Wilkinson Eyre

TP Bennett and Wilkinson Eyre's design for the £400 million development of London Bridge Station (left) won planning permission last week, just as another major transport scheme, Jestico + Whiles'£100 million plan for Camden Underground Station (right), was submitted to Camden council. Both feature 15-storey air rights developments - the London Bridge scheme adding an office block and the Camden scheme a multiplex cinema, retail, leisure and 50 housing units. The London Bridge Station concourse will be twice the area of the Tate Modern's turbine hall and puts paid to a smaller design by Terry Farrell & Partners. That was commissioned to take account of plans to expand the cross-London commuter Thameslink rail service.
