The RIBA has yet to receive a formal nomination from any candidates in the race to become the next president of the institution
When asked why the prestigious position at the head of RIBA’s council had so far failed to attract a formal nominee Ruth Reed, RIBA president said: ‘There a number of names that have been suggested but none have come forward yet.’
A spokesperson for the RIBA added ‘The deadline is 14 May and then we’ll know who is standing.’
Nomination to role of president elect is only open to Chartered Members and Honorary Fellows.
When elected, the president elect takes office in September 2010 and will then be president for two years a year later.
The deadline for nominations is 5pm on Friday 14 May 2010.
RIBA is also welcoming nominations for the national, regional and student member seats on RIBA council, available from 1 September 2010.
