Whitfield Partners has submitted a planning application for the headquarters for ccf Charterhouse in buildings four and five (right, buildings on left midground and background) in the practice's masterplan for Paternoster Square near St Paul's. The bank will be moving into a redeveloped Sheldon House (building four) and building five, which will be joined underground, when completed in the middle of 2003. 'The whole idea of these buildings is to produce a street and that the buildings are not over embellished,' said Sir William Whitfield. 'I've tried to recreate a sense of a street rather than a row of buildings - they're deliberately quiet.'
