Whingeing farmer has no right to complain

  • Comment

Who is this sad whinger Ian Scott Watson, who threatens to cancel his subscription just because Will Alsop writes something he doesn't agree with (AJ 7.6.01)?

I would forbid him to read the AJ. I did not, incidentally, notice Scott Watson writing in when the miners' livelihoods were being destroyed.

And as for his rambling and very tedious sturdy-yeomento-impoverished-recipients-ofstate-farming-handouts story, my family was farming the Borders long before his.

We had the good sense, more than 150 years ago, to go abroad and farm somewhere profitable. They would all have cut their throats and burned the farmyard at the very idea of queuing up at the EU subsidy smorgasbord.
