West 8 back in the hunt for South Bank landscaping

  • Comment

Dutch landscape architect West 8 is again in the running to design the landscaping for London's South Bank Centre (SBC).

The practice was originally selected to redevelop Jubilee Gardens, but was dropped when the brief was altered to include a much wider area. But it has now appeared on a shortlist along with Battle McCarthy, Gross.Max.Landscape Architects, EDAW and a partnership between Patel Taylor and French practice Groupes Signes.

A final decision will not be made until the SBC has managed to decide between FO Architects and Raphael Vinoly for the job of designing the centre's new infrastructure. The winner will help select the landscape architect.
