Well done Ash Sakula - but we 'won' too!

Congratulations to Ash Sakula on its 'scoop' of the first prize in the RIBA 'Homes for Learning' competition for the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham.

Mention should perhaps also be made of second-prize winner Mary Thum Associates' 'welldesigned and beautifully detailed practical rear extension design', and of third-prize winners Martin Castle and Monika Bik's 'beautifully computer rendered' student entry.

The three winners and five commended schemes will be exhibited at the RIBA Competitions Gallery at CUBE in Manchester, 11 September to 2 October. And the three winners will be displayed at the RIBA Competitions Gallery at the RIBA's Portland Place headquarters, 8-28 October.

We are quite proud of our first win in a major competition and think it deserves a mention in the AJ!

Mary J Thum, London SW1
