Waterstone's trashing of Simpsons is low

  • Comment

Again the aj has scored a bull's eye with David Taylor's 'Waterstone's rape of Simpson's Piccadilly' (aj 2.9.99). Waterstone's new hq shop in Emberton's iconic masterpiece is now fully revealed. Not content with shuffling off Eric Gill's distinguished sign to some remote position inside, the new owners have smeared obliterative black gloss paint over Emberton's carefully chosen colours.

There used to be a greengrocer in the Lake District who sold second-hand books by weight. Any connection?
