Watch out for that tricky 4th dimension, Britain

  • Comment

Clare Melhuish reviews Itsuko Hasegawa's recent lecture (AJ 1.7.99) and says there is unsuspected commonality between Britain and Japan.

I fear this is illusory, through the impact of the fourth dimension: Britain was an inventive, competitive (and sometimes ruthless) trading nation; Japan is.

Incidentally, the successive non-sequiturs in the concluding paragraph of the piece impenetrably obscure meaning from me.
