£4.9 billion has so far been raised for good causes by the Lottery, says the Department of Culture. In all, 26,566 awards worth £4.74 billion have been allocated in support of 38,770 projects.
The Heritage Lottery Fund has allocated £921 million to 1647 projects so far. It has paid out £239 million.
The Arts Council's lottery fund has allocated £1.039 billion to 7147 projects. It has paid out £465 million so far.
The Sports Council has allocated £669 million. It has spent £238 million.
The Millennium Commission has allocated £1.24 billion and spent £124 million.
The National Lottery Charities Board has allocated £810 million. It has paid out £300 million. Its biggest grant, £1.2 million, is to Shelter.
