An extra £270,000 was spent on fitting out Foster and Partners'City Hall after Greater London Authority staff moved in, a new report for the assembly's Budget Committee has found.

Graduates finished university with an average £10,997 of debt last year, representing a 17 per cent increase on the previous year, Barclays researchers have concluded.The bank also predicted that this figure is set to jump again to £12,500 in 2003.

Nearly 50 per cent of fathers would prefer to stay at home full time to look after their children if they could afford it, according to a new study from UMIST. And 80 per cent said they would like to spend 'a lot more time' with their families.
