Vital statistics: erosion of St Paul's Cathedral

The erosion of St Paul's Cathedral as a result of air pollution has halved in the space of 10 years, according to new research by the British Geomorphological Research Group. Its figures show that sulphur dioxide concentration in the air has fallen from 25 parts per billion (ppb) in the '80s to 10ppb in the '90s.
