Virtual lives

Moves are afoot to mount a post-biennale event in London, taking advantage of new technologies to stage real-time live discussion, and a virtual event run simultaneously, featuring architects whose work appeared at the biennale. Working title for the projects is 'Aesthetics, Ethics and Avatars'. Wow! It is not the only autumn event based on such technologies. Art group Station House Opera is to stage an event, 'Mutiny ', from 3-7 October in the Wigglesworth/Till Straw House in north London. The plot? 'A woman moves into a new house. The house, with its intelligent monitoring systems, is designed to learn about its new owner. Trying to make sense of the woman's self-deluding character, the house mistakes her for five, eight or 20 different people, all visually identical. Or is it that the woman has multiplied herself, under the mysterious influence of the house?' Cripes.
