Valve takes the pressure off pipework

  • Comment

Honeywell has resolved the mystery of regular water leaks at the De Vere Slaley Hall hotel in Northumberland. The problem was traced to erosion and corrosion of the copper pipe from high-velocity water flows, which were scouring the protective coating. A D300 pressure-reducing valve has now been fitted which regulates flows to between 15 and 20 litres per minute.

It was installed in a single 90-minute afternoon shutdown to avoid disruption, and is making significant savings on maintenance.
