UK-GBC christens Pinpoint, new online sustainability platform

EPR Director Dieter Gockmann awarded UK-GBC gold pin

Backed by EPR Architects, Marks & Spencer, Mitsubishi Electric Living Environmental Systems and the Wates Group, online search platform Pinpoint will be officially launched at Ecobuild.  At this week’s Christmas reception at the Building Centre, Paul King likened the new tool to a TripAdvisor for environmental construction professionals. The idea is to provide one point access to the proliferation of regulations, white papers, guidance, tools and case studies which can be peer-reviewed online.

EPR’s Director Deiter Gockmann was recognised with a UK-GBC gold pin for his role in the advisory group for Pinpoint and for chairing a planning group that formed part of the UK-GBC’s Green Building Guidance Task Group.  Dieter commented, ‘Rising to the challenges of creating a more sustainable built environment will require a collaborative approach and the need to share valuable knowledge and experience. This is why we feel an online platform for this information exchange and best practice distribution will be a major step forward in this goal, and are pleased to be part of its creation.’

To date, Pinpoint is supported by:

  • Better Buildings Partnership
  • British Property Foundation
  • Carbon Trust
  • Chartered Institute of Building
  • Energy Savings Trust
  • Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
  • Technology Strategy Board
  • WRAP

  • Hattie, I am very pleased to say that RIBA can be added to that list, along with the Design Council.
