A heavily dilapidated historic bridge at Myton on Swale in Yorkshire has been restored with the help of Casting Repairs, specialists in the repair of structural and decorative ironwork. Replacement of the transoms took priority, followed by the recasting of the cornice sections.
The parapet, consisting of decorative cast iron panels, also required extensive work and had to be re-cast and fitted using repaired original posts with modified fixings to simplify future maintenance.
