products: AJ ENQUIRY No: 203

At Sheffield Town Hall, the City Council needed to provide disabled access without introducing incongruous modern automatic doors in the period building. Tormax automated the original set of heavy oak doors by installing two pairs of Tormax TV underfloor swing-door operators. Since the floor slab was not substantial enough to carry the weight of the door operators, Tormax installed them within a space created in a wall one floor below. A drive shaft passes through the slab to the doors.
