The article 'Improved UCE school set to regain ARB validation following inspection' (AJ 3.7.03) is inaccurate in two respects. The visit described was undertaken by a RIBA/ARB visiting board consisting of members nominated by both the RIBA and ARB, not just ARB, as described in the article.
It is also premature for the 'ARB source' quoted to be indicating that the report of the visit is 'excellent'. The first draft of the visiting board report has just gone to the school for fact check - ing. It then has to go to validation advisory group for onward transmission to the RIBA education committee and ARB Board.
RIBA/ARB procedures make it clear that at this stage the report is strict - ly confidential until finally confirmed by the RIBA and/or the ARB.
