Tony Banks and Nick Raynsford

  • Comment

Tony Banks and Nick Raynsford, Ministers for Sport and London respectively, have backed plans for a London Strategic Walkway which has echoes of John Nash's Via Triumphalis. Designed by Anthony Meats with Colin Buchanan, the route is an 8km 'green corridor' with the stature of a metropolitan boulevard and opportunities to introduce statues and public art. It stretches from Hampstead in the north into the environs of Whitehall, interfacing with ideas proposed by Foster & Partners' 'World Squares for All' project. Meats is seeking funding for a Study Definition Report.
