'THREE STRIKES AND OUT'

The riba has resolved to get tough on representatives who drop out of meetings without good cause. It resolved to alter the byelaws so various members should vacate their offices if they miss three consecutive meetings without good reason. The reasons - such as attending court, bereavement, illness - will be interpreted by honorary secretary Roger Shrimplin or committee chairmen.
