The Mexican practice

  • Comment

The Mexican practice TEN Arquitectos (Enrique Norton and Bernardo Gomez-Pimienta) is lead architect for a grandiose project that has just started on site in Guadalajara: a cultural and business centre for which Libeskind, Gehry, Nouvel, Toyo Ito, Coop Himmelblau and Morphosis (among others) have all produced designs. Meanwhile a well-produced book, TEN Arquitectos (MonacelliPress. £25), with a brief introduction by Michael Sorkin, presents 21 projects by the practice. In the impressive National School of Theatre (left) and the Televisa Services Building, both in Mexico City, TEN Arquitectos embraces High-Tech but doesn't fetishise it at the expense of other concerns.
