The Lightbox by Marks Barfield Architects

The Lightbox aims to introduce the residents of Woking to the visual arts. It occupied a tight site alongside a dual carriageway to the south and a canal to the north. the exterior of the building is clad in anodised aluminium in graduated shades of gold and timber boards. The building follows a simple functional programme: a stack of gallery spaces is accessed from a longitudinal circulation zone along one side of the building.
