The light fantastic

This bizarre floor lamp (below) by Swiss designer Steve Lechot for Belux uses Nomex aramid fibre by DuPont to create individual parchment-like layers. Although it may look deceptively delicate, the material is scuff and tear-resistant, making it easy to clean. The Nomex material helps break up light to create a soft, diffused effect in any room.
