Good to see that the Royal Family's commitment to sweeping away the stuffy traditions of deference is reaching even as far as their treatment of architects. When Prince Andrew recently opened Foster and Partners' day care and leisure centre for people with special needs in North London, he was invited to cut a cake ingeniously made as a facsimile of the building. 'I hope Sir Norman has approved the design,' he pleaded as he hesitated before taking the knife.
