The Edred Wright Music School for King's School, Canterbury by Clague

  • Comment

[FIRST LOOK + PROJECT DATA] Kent-based multi-disciplinary practice Clague has completed this £1.45 million conversion of a listed tower into a new music school

With its new ‘lightweight extension’, the new Edred Wright Music School for The King’s School sits within a former boys boarding house inside the Canterbury World Heritage site.

According to the practice, this new glass ‘front door….refocuses the way that the facility is used and creates an entirely different creative atmosphere for the pupils’.

The school houses a recording studio and control room, the Peter Stone orchestral room, a listening room, a suite of 14 teaching or practice rooms, three large teaching rooms and a song school.
