The detr has given the green light to cardboard as a viable construction material and is supporting a new project to build an after-school club with it. The Westborough School building in Westcliff-on-Sea has been designed by Cottrell and Vermeulen Architecture with Buro Happold, which aims for it to be made from 90 per cent recyclable materials. A plastic material outer layer has been designed to keep fire at bay and water out. The club will include a changing area, a kitchenette and wc block and will be on site this summer.
