The changing rules of fellowship

letters

Referring to James Thomas's letter (aj 11.6.98), I am reminded that applicants for the fellowship had to be principals in private practice for three years or architect chief officers of local authorities for six years.

I was elected on 4 December 1968 (being the director of architecture and planning at the London Borough of Harrow) where I served until retiring in 1980. Since which time I have been in practice on my own account, still a fellow.
