This design was placed second in a limited developer/architect competition organised by the London Docklands Development Corporation for this important site. The proposals included 250 new apartments overlooking the new Thames Barrier Park. A seven-storey perforated environmental screen was to provide a buffer to the petroleum plant on the adjacent site to the west. Low, tapering pavilions dock into the ten-storey linear boundary apartments and are given a distinctive profile by the integrated 'art' windbreaks designed by graphic illustrator Llewellyn Thomas.
