The temporary roof was erected to protect the fire-damaged west wing of the Mac from winter weather.
The Mac was hit by fire on 23 May - a blaze which destroyed the iconic Mackintosh library and damaged aroung 10 per cent of the Glasgow landmark.
A timescale for the restoration work is still unknown, with the Glasgow School of Art currently looking for a restoration project manager.
However a call for expressions of interest from architects to lead the renovation of the landmark is expected to go out towards the end of this month (October).
Restoration of the Grade A-listed building is expected to cost up to £35million.
