Greenwich Design Group

Theme: structures

This group is part of the University of Greenwich. The designs are in some ways the most radical, though the group has no experience of commercial design in this sector. There is some layout flexibility

from the limited range of pre-insulated panels. These are based on breathing- wall technology with predefined service zones. Open-jointed unseasoned oak rainscreen cladding is fixed on site.

The foundations are pads and beams. With no wall plates or collar ties, the upper floor can be open to the roof soffit, so the group made the upper floor the living space.
