Lord Rothschild's successor as chairman of the National Heritage Memorial Fund come April Fool's Day is Eric Anderson, his current deputy - who just happens to be Tony B la ir's former English and drama teacher and housemaster at Fettes College.

He also taught Prince Charles at Gordonstoun. The RIBA is trying to find a member with Anderson connections who might help secure heritage funding for whatever the institute decides to do with its Drawings Collection. It could always follow the regeneration example of the V&A, which is moving its own drawings to the old Public Record Office building in Chancery Lane.
