Tall Storeys? The repercussions of 11 September for UK design

A conference, 'Tall Storeys? - After September 11th 2001', will be hosted by AJ parent company Emap Construct at the Institute of Mechanical Engineers in London on 22 November.

It will cover the repercussions for the UK's tall buildings following the US terrorist attacks on 11 September, and will encompass the architectural, structural and cost implications.

At the conference there will be keynote speeches from: RIBA president Paul Hyett; Lee Polisano, principal of Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates; Kenneth Shuttleworth, partner with Foster and Partners; CABE deputy chairman Paul Finch; Peter Rees, city planning officer, Corporation of London; Arup director Tony Fitzpatrick; Paul Morrell, senior partner with Davis Langdon & Everest; and Robert John, director of Canary Wharf.
