Surfing the country lane

Considering Alex Reid's penchant for all things Internetian, it is a disappointment to note that the riba's web site is 'too low-key and is seriously failing to exploit its opportunity to provide services to members in the uk and abroad'. Boring, in other words (and it doesn't even have an events list). The institute admits as much in council papers going out to members this week. Action is in hand, however. It wants 'the world's leading web site on architecture, receiving millions of 'hits' per annum'. And how will they fund such a venture? By raising overseas subscriptions from £98 to £147. Pah!
