Supporters in fight to save Spitalfields from EPR plan

  • Comment

London's Spitalfields Market Under Threat action group is to call on architects, MPs and celebrities to sign a petition to preserve the London icon. Signatures from prominent names will complete the manifesto before the group attempts to have it published and distributed nationwide. The market is the proposed site for the 5,574m 2EPR Architects-designed London International Financial Futures Exchange but the group hopes to preserve the site as a market venue. The market was excavated between 1991 and 2000 to reveal a Roman burial ground.
