Summers time

  • Comment

There is sudden interest in the Anne Summers retail chain of up-market, how can we put it, adult interest products. Rumour reaches Astragal that no less a personage than Tate Modern hero Jacques Herzog has been spotted (by a fellow architect) in the Tottenham Court Road branch, and that BDG McColl has expressed interest in the contract for a major design makeover bringing the chain into the new age. Meanwhile Alan Phillips, brought in by the group to design its latest Bromley store, has astounded everyone by winning a conservation award thanks to an outrageous piece of post-modern Dickensiana.

Wonders will never cease.
