Stiff and Trevillion scoops planning for Chelsea offices

  • Comment

[First look + plans + project data] Stiff and Trevillion Architects has won planning permission for this 13,500m² mixed-use retail and offices scheme on Sloane Street in west London

The project for Cadogan Estate features ground floor retail with five storeys of offices. The design also features a public courtyard to the rear of the site.

Two 1960s buildings on the 127 -135 Sloane Street site will be demolished to make for the structure.

Stiff and Trevillion founding partner Mike Stiff said: ‘This will be our biggest new piece of architecture in London. It is a great building and just as importantly, we are creating a new public space for this part of London.’

Cadogan Estate chief executive Hugh Seaborn added: ‘We are delighted with the outcome of the planning committee. The whole design team, led by Stiff + Trevillion, worked hard and imaginatively to reach this point. We are looking to the future of the project with great anticipation.’

The studio won the job in a limited design competition in 2009.
