Film director Guy Ritchie this week joined a host of top actors in a bid to stop the destruction of Borough Market in south London. The market is threatened by the Thameslink 2000 scheme which will drive a new viaduct, designed by Tony Meadows Associates, through the area. Vanessa Redgrave, Helena Bonham Carter and Prunella Scales also signed the petition, which was presented to the public inquiry into the scheme.
