Zaha Hadid's Bergisel Ski Jump and Terminus Hoenheim North are both on the shortlist for the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture - the Mies van der Rohe Award 2003.

Other London-based practices include Grimshaw - for the Eden Project - and William Russell Architecture and Design, for its new house on Bacon Street in London's Shoreditch.The London Metropolitan University's Florian Beigel is on the list for his Second Natural Landscape in Cospuden in Germany, while Daniel Libeskind's Imperial War Museum North is also shortlisted.The Irish contingent includes O'Donnell and Tuomy for its Furniture College in County Galway. EU commissioner Viviane Reding will announce the winner and a 'special mention'on 22 May in Brussels.
