[First look] Stanton Williams Architects project to redevelop Riverwalk House on Millbank, London is understood to be in line for purchase by property tycoon Gerald Ronson
The 13,700m² mixed-use project was submitted for planning by current site owner Derwent London however it is understood the company is now in advanced talks with Ronson over the property’s sale.
Ronson is chief executive of Heron International which completed the Heron Tower project by KPF in the City of London this year.
Any deal for the £70 million building at 155 / 166 Millbank is understood to be conditional on Stanton Williams’ scheme winning planning permission.
Under the studio’s plans the £70 million property – formerly home of the Government Office for London – will be transformed into 120 residential apartments with a restaurant and art gallery.
The riverside office building was completed in 1965 by architects Falmer & Dark. Its 0.3 hectare site includes a bronze sculpture by Henry Moore.
