Stanton Williams lands planning for Virginia Water pavilion

  • Comment

[First look + project data] Stanton Williams’ scheme for a visitor centre in Windsor Great Park has received planning permission

The practice’s design overlooks a man-made lake within the Grade I-listed Berkshire park.

The building, commissioned by the Crown Estate, will be close to the public entrance at Virginia Water.

Its ‘canopied’ form is planned to frame a view of the lake and create a sense of ‘arrival and anticipation’ – according to the practice.

Stanton Williams director Alan Stanton said: ‘We believe the project will engage and welcome people to Virginia Water, enhancing a unique place that people can enjoy visiting time and again.’
