Soane on the menu

Iwas worried about my old friends at the Sir John Soane Museum and their attitude towards that most important aspect of life: lunch. The notice about their forthcoming guided tour of 'The Pyramids of Kent' on 31 May warns that one of the sites, the mausoleum at Cobham Hall 'can only be reached by a long and demanding walk along a rough and muddy footpath'. After all this: 'Participants should bring their own picnics.' Happily, another tour on 12 June, to view church designs by Soane, shows an improvement. While the group 'may bring a packed lunch' for a stop in the village of Hindon, there is also mention of the Lamb public house. Hooray! Details of both tours from the museum.
