So creative

  • Comment

Architects were out in force for the Lord Mayor's creative industries lunch at the Mansion House last week. I spotted Ian Ritchie, Chris Wilkinson, Marks and Barfield, Sauerbruch Hutton, Piers Gough and Nick Grimshaw among others. Developer John Ritblat told me he hoped to build a 30storey tower on Euston Road; if University College Hospital can put a hospital tower there, why not?

The highlight of the lunch was the splendid performance (twice) of the national anthem, as we toasted the Queen and then the rest of the Royal Family. The music was supplied, not perfectly, by a live steel band.
