PRODUCT IN PRACTICE: GEZE

With the great number of visitors expected to the Great Northern leisure and shopping centre in Manchester city centre, fire safety measures are stringent.

Geze RWA smoke and heat extraction systems have been fitted to the glass atrium entrance linking the converted Victorian warehouse and new leisure building, activated via a signal received from the main fire alarm panel. RWA safeguards escape routes, limits damage to the building shell and contents, and reduces fire damage. Some 25 Geze E 250 spindle motors were installed with universal sliding mounting brackets, operating top-hung outwardopening casements, horizontal centre-pivoted casements and dome lights.
