Two workmen digging around the foundations of Hungerford Bridge across the Thames, where the Lifschutz Davidson revamp is under construction, came across something that looked like a bomb.
Amazingly, they decided they should take it to the site hut. When police were called the whole area was sealed off. A bomb disposal chap arrived, took one look at the bomb sitting on the site hut table, popped it into his rucksack and left.
Elsewhere on site, Westminster council man-mountain Graham King has been testing a trial section of footway and balustrading. It has survived plenty of heavyweight bouncing and leaning.
