Visitors to Cannes were given a sneak preview of New Architects, the guide to 83 of Britain's 'best young architects' (bizarrely including familiar older faces like Alan Brookes), which will be launched by the Architecture Foundation next week in fashionable Hoxton Square, East London. The beauty contest is brought down to earth in the appendix, listing each practice by major projects, personnel, etc. I couldn't quite establish from this whether the FAT group actually includes an architect among its principals, but doubtless it may do.
Another checklist element concerns provision of professional indemnity insurance. Some practices spell it all out. The more sensible ones have simply stated 'yes'.
