Simply gorgeous

A couple of steel props and a steel floor have allowed MKA Chartered Architects to design a house so that it extends dramatically over a gorge. The house at Tunbridge Wells in Kent is set within a mature landscaped garden on an estate of Victorian houses.

On the site currently occupied by a single-storey house, the new building will extend into the gorge, with a single-storey study that will enjoy dramatic views and accentuate the changing levels of the design. The engineer is Price & Myers, and the estimated construction cost of the house is £350,000.
