Should Lipton and the boys wield such power?

Ian Ritchie has given the first of his 'pep talks' on behalf of the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment (cabe). A wiser handful of developers and contractors is now starting to realise that the only way is the cabe way, and it is busy aligning itself with architects which feature on cabe's wish list.

Is this nepotism, restrictive practice or just 'jobs for the boys'? Is it right that Stuart Lipton and his cronies should wield this kind of power over the architectural profession? I think cabe must look very, very carefully at its approach.
