Designed as the focal point for the Open University in Milton Keynes, the Jennie Lee Library lies at the heart of the Walton Hall campus. The 7000m 2building will provide large open plan floor spaces which can be easily configured. The building is designed to take advantage of the surrounding landscape of mature trees with a formal lawn to the north, and a wildlife pond to the south. It is being largely prefabricated off site and materials have been selected for sustainability. Atelier Ten is the environmental engineer, Dewhurst Macfarlane and Partners is the structural and facade engineer and Currie and Brown is both the project manager and the quantity surveyor.
