The Scottish Arts Council this week paid out £150,000 in Lottery cash to architecture initiatives north of the border. The biggest winner, with £24,000, was the Manifesto Foundation, which is planning a year-long touring exhibition of the best contemporary practices in Scotland, while £22,000 went to the AWARE group, which is publishing a handbook drawn up by architects and local communities to increase the quality of design. A further £21,000 will be spent on a film, exhibition and events programme celebrating the design of Frank Gehry's cancer care centre in Dundee.
