The RIAS is to launch its annual £25,000 award for architecture tomorrow. The award is for the best building in Scotland which was completed between 1 January 2000 and 31 March 2002.

Further information will be available at www. rias. org. uk from 22 March. Entries must be submitted by 17 May. The winner will be announced in September.

Levitt Bernstein has completed a feasibility study into the potential of turning the Edwardian Old Street Magistrates Court in east London into a community courthouse.The project will address the lack of trust in the criminal justice system felt by minority communities. The proposed scheme (pictured) includes a business law clinic. The existing courtrooms will be restored and used as seminar and training areas.
