School goes modular

  • Comment

Salt Grammar School in Baildon in West Yorkshire, is to get a new £3 million, 26-classroom building in time for the new school year in September after signing up with Yorkon for one of its modular solutions. The 3000m2 steel-framed building will be mostly manufactured offsite, resulting in a 50 per cent saving in time and minimising disruption. It has been designed to complement the existing 1960s building and will incorporate a semi-circular glazed entrance. The Bradford Council initiative will mean Salt becomes a secondary school, with 500 extra students.
